The vegetable protection component emphasizes bio-intensive pest management, resistance monitoring against fungicides (Azoxystrobin, Pydiflumetofen), biological control strategies, and DUS testing for variety protection under PPV&FRA. Technology commercialization is facilitated through Agri-Business Incubation and Zonal Technology Management Units, ensuring seamless transfer of innovations to farmers and industry. Collectively, these projects—funded by ICAR, DBT, DST-SERB, NASF, PPV&FRA, UPCAR, and private sector—address national priorities of climate adaptation, food and nutritional security, doubling farmers' income, and Atmanirbhar Bharat, while generating significant socio-economic impact through farmer-centric outreach programs like Farmer FIRST.
